My name is Ember, my pronouns are they/them/their and she/her. I am currently a student at the University of Arizona Fine Arts school pursuing a BFA in Photography. My work consists of Digital and Darkroom Photography, Digital Collages, and Illustration. My work covers themes of terror, darkness, isolation, philosophy, and dreams. My work is often surreal or nightmarish, dealing with inner emotions including existential fear. Some of my work, especially my photography, is also influenced by my experience as a queer person, what it is like being a trans person in the world, my interactions with other people, and my emotional states. I have received education in Digital and Darkroom Photography. My illustrations are more of a hobby to me and I do them in my free time. I have recently been creating Digital Collages in Photoshop. I am based in Tucson, Arizona.

Most of my Photography is Digital. I primarily work with Photoshop and shoot with a Canon. For my collages, I find images on the internet and create a piece within Photoshop. My illustrations are mostly India ink, acrylic paint, and pencil on Bristol paper.

Music and film often inspire me. I base most of my work off of emotions, so music helps me with expressing that. Some musical artists that I find myself listening to when working are: The Body, Lingua Ignota, Have a Nice Life, Full of Hell, Bosse-de-nage, Planning for Burial, Daughters, and Wreck and Reference. On a happier note I also listen to artists such as Modest Mouse, Sufjan Stevens, The National, Bloc Party, and Low Roar. I often post my art on my Instagram story along with music. I also post a bunch of playlists on my story with all kinds of music genres. I love watching all kinds of movies, especially dramas and horror. One film I found very influential is David Lowery's, A Ghost Story. I am currently taking a Cosmology class that has greatly influenced my work. Stars and our place in the universe is something I think about often.
